The musical city of Chicago—a place where countless talents emerge from vibrant Hispanic communities—Grupo Cizma is set to revolutionize Mexican regional music with their fresh sound and heartfelt storytelling of romance, survival and family in their first album.
The Visionary Behind the Band: Angel Saucedo
Angel Saucedo, originally from Chicago, Illinois, with Mexican roots and family in Morelia, Michoacán, began playing the accordion at the age of seven. Coming from a family of musicians, his father encouraged him by giving him his first accordion. “I have music in my blood because of my family. Most of my family are musicians. My father gave me my first accordion when I was seven. From then on, I started practicing. I love music; it’s my passion,” he says.
Angel Saucedo always dreamed of being a vocalist, and one of his early aspirations was to join the group ‘Calibre 50,’ a dream that came true in, 2022.
His transition from Calibre 50 to founding Grupo Cizma marks a bold new chapter in his career, where he manages multiple hats as a singer, producer, accordionist and songwriter. With Grupo Cizma, Saucedo is channeling his vast experience and boundless creativity into a project that is both deeply personal and universally appealing.
